Mold Remediation: Residential and Commerical Property

Some molds can produce toxic substances called mycotoxins. Health effects from breathing mycotoxins are not clearly understood. Some medical studies conducted in the 1990's reported health related effects such as fever, nosebleeds, dizziness, headaches, vomiting, liver damage and impaired immune system function. Investigators have not been able to prove conclusively whether mold exposure was the cause of these health effects.

Molds can grow on wood, paper, carpet, and foods. When excessive moisture or water accumulates indoors, mold infestation problems will occur, particularly if the moisture problem remains undiscovered or un-addressed for some length of time.

Many people individuals think that if the toxic mold is not present, then there is no problem. Unfortunately that is not the case. Most if not all mold species can cause allergy and asthma and many can cause sinusitis if the concentration and exposure time are sufficient.

Without moisture, mold will not grow. That's why we incorporate moisture control measures into our mold remediation process. Our licensed plumbers and electricians work together with our mold remediation crews to resolve moisture problems that develop in:

  • Attics
  • Basements
  • Crawlspaces
  • Hidden Mold in Wall and Ceiling Cavities

Mold remediation is performed under the guidelines of the New York City Department of Health & Mental Hygiene Bureau of Environmental & Occupational Disease Epidemiology "Guidelines on Assessment and Remediation of Fungi in Indoor Environments" and "IICRC S520 Standard and Reference Guide for Professional Mold Remediation". EPA approved fungicides, anti-microbial agents, mildewcidal paints, mold inhibitors and protectants are utilized by our technicians.

Post mold remediation sampling and analysis is conducted to demonstrate that remediation activities have been effective in correcting a mold problem. See what the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration says about mold.
